I have dowloaded the drivers from the website, restarted the Mac, reconnected the device. The support email listed at the above web pages is: resolution with the Saicoo reader, consider returning the device to the vendor for a refund, and acquire a device with (better) support for macOS. Level 1 4 points Purchased SAICOO Card Reader v2, not recognised by MacBook I purchased a Saicoo Card Reader v2 but my MacBook (El Capitan OS X 10.11.6) will not recognise it. Saicoo does indicate lifetime technical support for their products. In general, I'd contact the vendor's technical support for assistance here, as well as the folks that support the organization you're using the CAC reader with. The organization that you're using this CAC reader with will probably know about this enabler requirement, too. I do not know about the "third-party CAC Enabler program" that Saicoo lists as being necessary. Saicoo indicates that both Oracle Java is required before launching the provided installer, and that there's a separately-acquired "enabler" software package also required. Saicoo has two models of CAC readers listed on their web site. Given that USB card readers don't usually need separately-installed drivers, so I'll assume that this particular reader is a CAC reader.
